On topics of health

Went to thyroid clinic this morning, sick of wearing scarves all the time. no really, I am. I had a great neck till this bastard disease made me look like I have no concept of iodine in my diet.

Sat in waiting room watching bizzarre MJ funeral, like truly bizzarre, thats coming from a conservative noone talks but cries somberly approach, watching people lilt and boogie and do jazz hands before the dead person weirded me out.

Doctor man came, laid out what I could expect, prodded the gland, asked me what the story was with how I've been feeling, I gave him my last specialists notes and he told me to my relief there would be no fine needle aspiration of my neck. excellent.

weirdest question " do your breasts leak milk? " (said very clinically)

" No " I replied just as clinically, and then I felt compelled to add " except when theres a baby involved". god knows why I said that.

showed me to a room, lady stuck needle in my arm and told me to look at the teddies while she drew vast quantities of my bleed. Showed me to the next room where I lay on a bed and had an ultrasound done, very nice technician, happily discussed what he could see on the scan.

I was fine till he said " highly vascular and consistent with Graves" and I thought I don't want Graves disease, thats worse! (overactive thyroid), but turns out Im still just good old hashitmotos. now taking meds, with review in a year, 6-12 months to abate the swelling, and hopefully the swelling fatness as well lol.

So Im not dying, sorry if that displeases anyone, and I don't need surgery either. We are status quo with a pill everyday as additional.

Thankyou for not dying, I would cry more than peeps at a Michael Jackson funeral.
