7.38

In 8 hours Jessica will have landed and I will be standing round looking for a 365 blog opportunity when she walks through the gates. Im often reminded that the age difference between my sister and I is slightly more than that between myself and my own mother, I was 16 when my mother was the age I am now. How did she not want to hang out with me?? lol.

However when I was a teenager, I confided much in my parents younger cooler hipper friends, and they seemed to be cool with hanging out with me too. Perhaps its that Jess is of an age now where hers and my relationship is able to grow independantly and we can share alot more, but I, probably like those friends of my mothers, don't feel inclined towards that more authoritarian approach a parent is likely to have. I will say though that my mothers youthfulness has contributed much to our close relationship, only yesterday she was here being a manic cleaner of the kitchen of her own volition. My favourite memory is of her and I when I was about 19, we went to town to see a movie together, lunched, window shopped, went to another movie, had burgers after and caught a bus home but both said we didn't wanna, we wanted to stay out.

Anyway, its more like 7 hours so I have to go tidy up, its freezing this morning as well so I hope shes wearing a thick jacket when she gets off the plane.
