in particular:
Our nation has been destroyed by the hard-right ideology of Neo-liberalism, which in my view is nothing more than a syncretic variant of Fascism. I have decided personally to rename neo-liberalism using more accurate language, I like “Market Fascism” as a handy descriptor. Market Fascism deliberately sets out to terminally erode notions of collective identity, national solidarity, social cohesion and individual empathy. It seeks to replace these with new values of hyper-individualism, golbalised dislocation, bullying, increasing income inequality and cultural philistinism. Market Fascism’s worship of narrow market mechanisms leads to an equally narrow minded, short sighted hopelessness that translates into the helpless, passive-aggressive defeatism that now infests all levels of our society. if one more accurately sees neo-liberalism as a variant of Fascism then the attitudes of our leaders make sense, since at it’s base all types of fascism are built on nihilistic foundations. After twenty five years, our resignation to the nihilism of the market is now stronger than our will to fight.
I love it. Thanks guy who wrote this. so succinct.
