sometimes I just can't think of interesting shit to talk about.
This week on Facebook I had the hell thread war about Paula Bennetts decision to reveal the incomes of 2 Domestic Purposes benefit mums who were speaking out about the government canning a training incentive allowance, which helps pay for additional expenses incurred whilst studying. The point being study leads to employment, leads to leaving welfare assistance. This makes sense to me. Paula didn't think their right to privacy was that important, or to speak out, and now the public hate these womens guts. Good one, you dick.
Im not sure at what point, but there has been a groundswell of numpty public support against the welfare state, preferring instead the rather elitst idea that hardwork gets you everywhere and welfare support gets you 'lazy'.
How many employed people waste the bosses time and money on Facebook everyday? Does it make it ok because they pay tax on the bosses wasted investment? its all a matter of perspective really. And theres never a sway from the practised speech of 'its ok for the genuine needy, but as a hand up, not a hand out'.
I put this statement right up there with other such gems as 'really enjoys long walks along the beach and a good red wine' , and ' but I know you, your different, not like all those other [insert racial minority here]'.
what the fuck. Do people engage the neurons when they talk? Its as bad as the 'Time for a change' campaign National ran at the last election. Numptys all over the country being interviewed on telly saying ' look they have to go (Labour), they've been there too long, its time for a change', or ' yeah Im voting National coz I just think we need a change aye'.
Change to what???
They didn't have a fucking clue, but it sounded good.
So now we're back on the Bene bash. Apparently the public of this country are so up their own arses of self importance, receiving a welfare income due to mostly shithouse circumstances, makes you public property to name and shame at will, speak untruths about at random, and hold over a barrel.
Why? the usual catch cry of ' because Im paying for you to live.' Oh really, is that so.
Actually its not your fuckin money its the governments money as part of your citizen contract to live in this apparent part time democracy part time autocratic dictatorship dependant on which side of the poverty line you are standing on. According to these people citizen rights are only afforded to a select few, and the rest are discussed like cattle who need to be either desexed, or put down.
Im not going to get into the stereotypical 'but you must admit people do abuse the system' arguement. So fucking what? Humans abuse everything, their bodies, their minds, their children, they evade tax, steal from the workplace, they collude in market monopolies, rip off investors, they torture animals, abuse power, fuck over the system. And noone says ' but its my money I pay taxes'.
what the shit is that but selective memory? Why the hell do we feel compelled to wipe our shit covered shoes on the already downtrodden?
WORK is not a legitimising concept which exempts you from collective responsibility to your community. It does not hold you apart from the rest of society as a beacon and a model of truth. It does not give you a moral high ground on which to stand while you eat your coworkers lunch out of the office fridge, cheat on your girlfriend and default on your child support.
I could have made this shorter.
people. glasshouses. stones.

hurm, I was thinking of a long annoted reply but that seems unnecessary when one takes into light that this is your soapbox to do and say as you will. I will note in brief that the language used in your diatribe cast a wide net making it feel like you vehimence was aimed also at socially conscious 'tax paying units' like myself as well.
In regards to:
1. All citizens having equal rights no matter their circumstances.
2. Supporting the existance of an equitable welfare state.
I am in agreeance. Which is what I believe you are trying to communicate.
Diatribe is domestically based, not necessarily transferrable to other tax payer units offshore :)
Context for diatribe was the event involving Ms Bennett and the subsequent outpouring or human verbal excrement in NZ which even SHE thought was appalling.
NZ middle ground is an underground of right leaners, who, really think we will all become millionaires by cleaning toilets.
I would hope that you would not think I was ever talking about people I am aligned too, like my family... with the exception of my uncle Jack lol.
I do, I do
