not counting chickens JUST yet.

John Key has shut down the government backed counter-bid (Shambolic piece of crap underhandedness) for TVNZ to host the RWC, and has reinstated Maori TV as the frontrunner. I want to be excited in this development for Maori, but Im waiting to see what deal is being done with TVNZ and TV3 before I feel secure that MTS won't get rolled bowled and arseholed a second time.

Key, Sharples broker World Cup Broadcasting deal.

Yesterday the news told us that despite the big public whinge about TPK using 'their money' (um no, its TPK's) to fund a bid, now the Beehive had stepped in and was funding a TVNZ counter bid, this after the competition has had the final sums of the MTS bid revealed to them. Not cricket. yes its rugby but its not cricket... you get my meaning. Funnily noone said much.... and yet it was the same shit on a different day with different faces.

I have not ever liked John Key except for 2 occasions. One when he brushed ACT during a Uni speech he gave last year that I saw, and today when he did the right thing, for Maori for a change. Beleive it or not its a myth that Maori get the best of everything, its also a myth that government kowtow to Maori pressure, read 'Foreshore and Seabed', and no mana-whenua on the supercity council if you need any recent proof.

This is a coup for Maori, and I sincerely hope that it causes a massive ripple of change.
