I've got to the point of argh in my academic calendar. a 2000 word submisson on the criminal investigations (bodily samples) amendment bill, and its implications for Maori. It almost makes me sound clever. I feel lost.
Myself and another visited a beloved friend today, and after discussed said beloved friends 'negativeness' (not my word, theirs). I said they weren't negative, just insatiable, 'what do you mean' they asked and I said, well, there is something in his life which remains unsated, he simply has not found the thing that gives him the relief, or the sense of purpose, or joy, whatever it is he is looking for, and so the journey to find it continues.
they asked me if i thought of myself in the same context to which I answered 'of course'. And I went further to say that in my humble opinion there are two types of people in the world, us, and them.
us's are people who are never quite satisfied with what they know, and search to aquire more to bring more meaning/spirituality/wholeness /knowledge to their conciousness. Them's are people who are completely satisfied with their lot in life, whatever that lot entails, millions, or small change. They reach a certain point and then they stop aquiring, sensing no need to aquire any more, being happy with whats been attained. I said to them they are the people he hates at bbq's, the people who irritate him with office jargon and sports paraphernalia. Well, just to give a couple of examples anyway.
They are to me the people who ask what I do and I tell them and they go woah, and change the subject. Theres lots of them, lots and lots.
