Few things on my mind

I have no picture. I am at university in the Maori Library so I have no visual resources at hand.

the following things grazed my brain today.

* that the asian girl walking in front of me had the coolest slouch socks and I want some.

* that the large billboard of Keanu Reeves new movie served as a reminder of how destiny and proximity continue to rob me of what I think is the dead set certainty he should have been my husband, I mean, Im brainy enough, it would've worked damnit. I feel the chemical other worldly connection between us (lol) still alive and well thats been there since 1987, I swear we would have snogged at the very least. (no slight on my boyfriend who I love of course)

*I have wasted 4 days of study wishing I didn't have to study.

*I only have 6 weeks to drop my jelly roll waistline before my holiday.

* There is an election in 24 hours and I have lost my hope.

Yes. Lost it.

I don't know how best to articulate this. And I can only come at politics from an academic angle because I am an academic student... of Politics.... and Sociology.

And from everything I've seen and learnt, I have absolutely no reason to beleive that anything will change on Sunday except for perception. Politics is more than policy, it is more than myths and notions of words we don't really understand the proper meaning of except when we are using them to sway an arguement, even if the term we are espousing is being used incorrectly.

The world watched America vote Liberal Democracy for their future (thats not NEOliberal, they are different), and reject all the neoconservative values of its republican foe. Milton Friedman has had his moment in the sun, and his stupid fucking economic theory of freemarket bollocks has tipped the world on its side and shook all the loose change out of its pocket, so now theres no money for bread and a paper.

Our own government is having a reuptake of Keynesian economic thinking, and yet.... noone in this country seems to even bloody get it.

America just turned left... why the fuck are we going right? Work it out yeah, Theres no neighbours to envy anymore, they just lost their house and all their investment properties, the beemer and the timeshare in brissy in the gloal cash crisis.

People left NZ right, because Neo liberal thinking leads to greedy-itis, the notion not of a better life, but of mo mo mo mo MO fuckin money. theres no money anywhere... milton friedmans econ model was like a black hole that ate itself from the inside out.

I'm no expert, but has anyone noticed how samey to Labour National really is? People want individual freedom whilst asking for govt protections.... does anyone except me see the contradiction in that? its a contradiction of philosophy.

And for another. enough with the bene bashing. Its sick, counter productive and fuckin retarded.

If the self appointed majority got rid of everyone they didn't like, there would be no brown people, no single parents, no gays, no poor people. Life ain't like that, and how yawn would it be if it was.

I will be voting for Labour. This is where my conscience takes me, because all the fuckin crap people say does not affect me, because I know, they haven't really got a clue what anything they are saying means.
