broked

Puter is brokes. Seb is fixing. Frozen screen hell. I hates the technology.

BUY NOTHING DAY is in full effect. Problem. Needs to buy meat for bbq, and some drink. this makes me a fake buy nothing day participant.

I haven't labelled any of my posts in like ever. the labelling thing is weird.

The house is a mess, and the lawns need mowing and I need a tan....

I think of 1977, laying in a blue bathing costume on a lilo in the sun, laying in the sun for hours on that lilo in the glinting low tide waters of Shakespeare Bay. My hair is long and curled into two pigtails expertly by my mother and theres sand in my swimsuit. Days before sunscreen was invented, days of burning, days before ozone holes. I was burned so badly the backs of my legs were fire red, my young skin razor hot.

And now, I think of that balmy summer day and the smell of menthol as my mother liberally applied applicane over my legs and I screamed, and I see the sun spots on my ageing face and Im pretty sure the heady memories of Shakespeare sun have something to do with that.

And onto something else.

Im pigheadedly unrepentant about most things I say. People say 'oh you don't mean that' and I say 'yes, yes I do' and I don't take it back although I do reserve the right to change my mind.
I've heard myself described as blunt, sharp, pointy, angry, determined, arrogant, opinionated, sure, and mean. I suppose I am all of these things.

A long time ago, [oddly from a girl in my company at shakespeare bay], I learnt that mastering words was always going to make up the balance of everything I lacked in height, size, and colour. She was cute and blond and funny and slightly older than me and she made adults laugh at her cute witty 5 year old humour. A case of envy maybe. It began my foray into big words and my unrepentant attitude.

I do think (mostly) before I open my gob, I have mulled over, exactly how I mean to say whatever it is that is on my mind. Still, I haven't been able to shear off the pointy edges, and I guess this is how I am made.

And so, there wasn't that much point to my sharing, but I hope that some of the things I say make some kind of impression for the better, even if they come over alittle heavy.
