I can has pancakes?plz?
I just talked to Phoebe on the phone. It was the first time I have. I thought it was Peter James ringing up for Cole but then this tiny little north american childs voice haltingly asks for her Daddy. I felt bad for her obvious surprise that he did not answer the phone. I only hope it didn't frighten her.
I have one more day to go. One more. And then life sort of returneth to a normal sense of things. It also means I must start excersizing in ernest, not just talk about it.
On things Maori....
The odd thing about being a hybrid, is the sense of cultural displacement you experience when you are in the company of your own kind. It could be my own perception, but having friends like Gordon who straddles the bicultural paradigm like I do, its hard to fall seamlessly between the 2 worlds.
I feel English.
I feel Maori.
My heart feels Maori. but it doesn't fit into whatever I have missed not growing up colloquially Maori.
This hybrid state is confusing. Sometimes I feel fraudulent.
I feel as if this will never truley be rectified till I learn te reo, but that frightens me.
Fear.
Bleh.
I wish we'd had kapahaka when I was little.
I don't know.
Im confused.
