Yesterday, at about 6.45 pm, my neighbour thought it a really awesome idea to cut up metal pipes with a skillsaw outside my bedroom window. He does really excellent shit like this all the time. More recently he thought it an awesome idea to fold up tarpaulins outside my bedroom window... at 4am. I can't decide if having him for a neighbour is detrimental to my mental health or, if there is even possibly a worse alternative.
In the school holidays while he and his wife and 3 younger children went to an undisclosed island group for a month, he left behind the oldest son. I got 'treated' to an alternative reality to Mum and Dad Pacifika in the form of a 19 year old with his emotional handbrake off. Boozy parties, raucus fighting and very loud teen sex was my reality. For the first time in pretty much EVER I couldn't wait for my neighbour to come home.
However, as I sauntered past the end of his driveway to buy onions for dinner, I was nearly made deaf by him and his skill saw. Sometimes I just want to cry... or drink gin. I can't decide. Nevermind he cut down my tree and keeps ripping the palings off my fence, blinds me in the night with his sensor lights flooding in the window. Is it possible there is a less favourable reality if they ever move? Actually... I might go find that gin afterall.
