Auckland, Engine room of the country, city of Sails, sometimes city of retarded decisions to halt the engine room of the country so some horsies, and some little kids dressed up like horsies can parade down Broadway in the pissing rain.

So, I had 2 lectures today, choice, did all that, got on a bus to get back to my car, once again just to hammer the point home, it was raining like a bastard.

For those who understand Aucklands roading, Khyber Pass is the main arterial out of town into Newmarket, its a fucking busy road. When it rains, all Aucklanders miraculously turn into a bunch of spazfaces and traffic grinds to a halt. So I'm on a bus in this, its no matter, Im all good. 3 cars from the Khyber Pass and Broadway intersection an excited policeman turns on his woowoo's and parks in front of the lot of us obstructing flow through.

We sit.

We wait.

We start to bob our heads.

Cars start beeping, like beeping is going to do anything. We wait abit more. I start to wonder if someones been run over, or has a building collapsed, a bomb scare maybe??? its got to be dramatic, because who the fuck stops Khyber Pass traffic at lunchtime in the rain?

We waited and fucking waited. I text Seb. I text Rose. I talk to the bus driver.

15 minutes later........

No shit, a big banner and some poor drowned bitches holding it walk along the road 'Auckland City proudly presents..." I swtiched off... it was something something bla bla Race day. RACE DAY???, you stop the engine of the country for this????? All these floats and bagpipes, and weird dressed up people and poor little kids and pompous git polo riders proceed past us. In the mean time the beeping and shittyness is going on behind the bus, huffy u-turns and spitting and hissing. One stupid cow even pulled into the opposing lane to try and pass the cop. SHAME, she had to turn around and go back. Loser.

I got home eventually, but wondered who the moron was who signed off the yes! tick on that ridiculous waste of ratepayers money.
