Its Labour weekend.
Friday was last day of lectures, I got up at 2am to study for a test at 10am, in the interim also getting ready, getting kids off to school, getting on a bus etc.
Test was 10-12... it was abit average, but needing a mere 1% to pass I was not too concerned. Im pretty confidant I got 50% of it right, which gives me a B grade. After the exam was my last class ever for the semester, visual culture, there was about 12 of us there, very very sad turnout. At about 12.55 I suddenly realised, shit I haven't done my scholarship application! raced down the road to hukatai and typed a bunch of flowery crap. Im hoping but not hopeful.
Finally, at 2 o'clock I managed to get down to Law school to hang with all the murries, we had a few drinks, not helpful when I'd only eaten an apple. Seb and Mat arrived, we left and walked to the uni pub but by the time we got there it was time to leave and head out to Mezze Bar to meet the sociology kids for drinks and go to a film which I still didn't know the name of. I was abit worried about the fact I was abit pissed, but noone seemed to notice, it occurred to me this is the first time in my academic career I've ever socialised with anyone off campus grounds and not at my house.
I managed to get the name out of the movie out of my lecturer, 'Withnail and I', the big deal being that one of the actors was meant to be there for abit of q&a, I'd never even heard of it so I had no idea what was going on. So we rock up to this place, and the dude comes out:
I thought, gosh he's familiar! couldn't work out WHY.
We were late so we had to sit second row from the front, I actually fell asleep at one point, not a good look. Movie was good, but I was tired. When it finished, that guy on the left did his q&a but there was obviously some 'fanatics' in the audience asking a bunch of daft questions, we waited so as not to be too conspicuous but the questions got duller and duller. In the end we thought bugger it and got up politely and left, which meant walking up the aisle in front of everyone. That guy on the left stopped talking and said 'see you then' I turned and waved, he said something else, I bowed. lol.
We went for another drink but by now I've been up for a good 21 hours, and Im abit tired, Seb and I had no car so we caught a bus to Royal Oak and cabbed the rest of the way.
Saturday I decided to do nothing, (I still haven't finished my essay OR my report ), we took the kids to the park and had a picnic, it was nice to feel normal again. Today we went to Armageddon... FUNNY STORY.... we walk through the signing area, there I see that bitch Jerri from Survivor... who would want her autograph??... staring up at the wall I see this poster and I say aha!!!! thats where I've seen that bloke from the pictures on Friday night!
Well I never.
So I still have work to do, but no classes and I won't be spending 40 bucks a week on parking. YAY.
