over the last 4 years I've accumulated some good friends, I wasn't allowed to have boy mates in my 'before' life, I do in my 'after' life.

The problem is, they seem to lead to conversations which are admissions, like 'why are you not single'... and you go.... oh, my bad? I will still be your friend, theres no reason to stop but... christ. None of them would ever do anything ie interfere in my present life, and Seb seems to be mature enough not to say 'your banned from boy mates' but still... will the opposite sexes ever truly just be friends?
