Extortion.

Note to my brother. Start saving for the school uniforms now. like, in a jar.

Kobi is about to start intermediate, 2 years of preteen transition, I dunno why they don't just tack it onto primary, or take year 9 off High school and make it a 3 year experience. Cole is going to my old primary school, all this means new uniforms.

MY GOOD GOD.

If I account for two changes of shorts and top each, a sweater, PE uniform for Kobi, regulation schoes and socks for kobi, sandals for both of them, stationary.... its a little under a thousand dollars. Its retarded. And the thing is, you don't have any choice, so these 'uniform shops' can charge you whatever the fack they like. The old arguement rolls out, oh but you save so much money on clothes.... um no I don't coz I wouldn't spend a thousand dollars on them EVER at once.  This was confirmed as my benevolent mother and grandmother accompanied me and Cole to the uniform shop and gasped in horror at what we got for our dollars. As two accomplished seamstresses who appreciate garment workmanship they both found it hard to justify the individual cost of each item.

Yesterday morning we went for our first bus practice with Kobi's friend Jack and his mum and siblings. Jill and tribe got off with Kobi and walked to the intermediate together while I carried on up the road with Cole and got off at his stop near his school. We all then had a hot chocolate and caught the next bus home again. Today in the stationary store I ran into Melissa who is the mum of an old classmate of Coles who now attends Royal Oak, she said she was keen for some carpooling so thats another option open to us. So next Tuesday Kobi starts, and on Wednesday Cole starts, will be interesting to see how it goes....
