When is a secret a good secret, and when is it a bad one

I found out last week, that I have a cousin I never knew about. It was told to me by an aunty, and I was excited when she did. Its hard to push down a swell of curiosity given I'd just found out Im related to a person I never knew existed, so I went looking, and I found him.

The problem was that additional to this revelation was a sub-clause - the reason I didn't know was, his father doesn't beleive its his son. This in and of itself presented problems with making contact, so while I mused on it, another cousin of mine happened to start talking to me on the internet. In abit of a rush of blood to the head I said to him 'did you know?' and he said 'no???' and before you can say STOP, hes emailing our new cousin to introduce himself. Not my style, not my choice, but the end result was our new cousin was happy to hear from him.

But my other aunt was not.

Next thing I know shes called her sister in NZ, and the father of the new cousin in Melbourne to report the 'gossiping' thats happening. She omitted the part where it was her own son who contacted her 'nephew' and put the shit on me and her other sister instead.

And now we are in trouble for talking about him, me less so, but my Aunty Libby is in the dog box.

And I think this is all bullshit, and they should get a DNA test and shut the fuck up. I think he looks like Dad, profile anyway. And I wrote to him and he wrote back and he wants to meet, and I want to meet him too.
