I've seen dead people in news today, which is awful. The Christchurch earthquake thats pretty much rooted the place hasn't taken the lives of anyone I care about, but thats just a luck thing. I've watched a piece of footage now about 5 or 6 times of a young man being pulled out of rubble, the screams of the left behind in the background. The thing that bothered me the most was the familiarity of the scenery, and then I realised it was the same corner where Misato and I went for lunch.
Im glad all the people I care for made other plans, one didn't go to Lyttleton like she was supposed to, another didn't check into a hotel in town, opting instead for a motel further out. I hope, that there aren't too many children whos mummies and daddies didn't pick them up from school, I hope that everyone is with someone they love down there tonight.
