in about..... (wait while I count).... 41 days, Jessie comes to stay with us :) And while Onehunga doesn't offer up the delights that a girl from Newtown might be used to, its going to be fun having the little sister in the house.

I have some tentative plans to possibly go to Snowplanet, Rotorua, Miranda hotpools, movies, shops, Mission Bay, Piha, Papamoa. that should about cover our 10 days together. Whilst I do harbour latent desires to not return her to Sydney, I think I would lose massive family points if I didn't lol.

Its the long weekend this weekend as well, and today is no class so its a really long weekend. We have a few things planned, My Nana turns 75 on Sunday, my friend Nikki is staying with us for a night from Wellington, Kate's having a jewels party.

Cole was 8 on Wednesday, and yesterday we had a small afternoon tea at home. His sense of humour develops daily, and I was blind sided with this 'gem' on Wednesday night as I whipped up some cream for his cake and asked him to get me the VANILLA.

He opens the decorating box and hands me sprinkles.

'thats sprinkles not vanilla!' I say

he looks at me and without missing a beat replies:

'woman! do I look like I know what vanilla is????'

I burst out laughing. And this is generally how my newly 8 year old child observes the world. rather fittingly his tshirt yesterday read " Being good is my brothers job".
