last days of holiday

Me, Seb, little Emma and Nicky went and saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last night. Earlier in the day I had taken Nicky to my mums so they could discuss the finer points of food, mum is catering Nicky and Chuckys engagement party.
So I left the boys behind in a child swap of sorts and took Emma home with me. Being 14 and of sound mind and out of play with the paternal unit 9 months of the year, and being the stepmother lives on the suburban fringe with no ready available transport, Auckland can be a dull place. So she likes coming to stay with us for a night because we do cool shit. haha.
Anyway.... so with no boys and a teenager instead we went to see Mr Button. Can use the words sad, nice, thoughtful, sad, funny, cute and... fuckin sad. Nicky was sat at the opposite end to me so when the lights came up she was a big cry ball. It was a long film, but I would recommend seeing it, but what the hell Cate Blanchett, does the woman never age? Ironic in a film all about the journey of life. Brad looked old .lol. I KNOW he was meant to but when he started nearing his 40's he actually looked old, no more thelma and louise young buck stuff. However he still looks pretty bloody good.
Day 3 of non soft drink. Actually it should be day one as I had half a glass of lemonade yesterday. Ok its day one. dammit. Its hard to be good with food when you go to the movies.
In 3 months today my son is 11. Far out. When he was born the prospect of turning 5 seemed outlandish, turning 10 positively distant and now he's nearly 11. I quite liked being 11 myself, 1984, Square Pegs, the A team, double belts, hubba bubba, pop music in full thrust, the LA Olympics (ironically where my notions of 'Telfer' begin as Sebs dad was a televised commentator), finally realising I wasn't too bad at art.
I've told Kobi he has to pull finger this year at school and try his very best. Hes excited about being in his best friend Jacks class, although this is Coles first year without Peter James. I have to start applying for intermediate schools (I wish I had a manual for this coz I have no clue), perhaps I should write raising children for dummies. Theres only really 4 options, Royal Oak, Remuera, Elerslie, or the big whopper, Dilworth. I need to put 'applications on my list of 'to dos', right along side the mysterioso entry of James lol.
enough writing, or this gets boring.
