This is my gt gt gt gt grandfather. His name is Te Ruki Kawiti. He was a high chief of Ngati Hine Hapu, tactician of war, poet, and signatory of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

This is Kawiti's third son with wife Kawa, Te Kuhanga Maihi Paraone Kawiti. he was successor of his fathers role as chief.

This is Maihi's third wife (on the right) Heni Ngarino. She is the the neice of King Tawhiao given to Maihi by Tawhaio. She is Waikato iwi Tainui. She bore him 6 children.

This is Heni Ngarino with her second husband, Hoterene Kawiti. On his deathbed of typhoid Maihi entrusted his wife to his nephew. Behind her is her son Te Riri, and daughter Huria. Beside Hoterene is their daughter together, Mate.

This is Te Warati Kawiti (on right) she is the daughter of Heni Ngarino and Maihi Kawiti. Beside her is her sister inlaw Totorewa, wife of Te Riri (pictured above). Warati married Kiwi Paraha.

This is Wiremu Paraha, son of Te Warati and Kiwi Paraha.

This is Tangatakino Mangu, she married Wiremu Paraha, her Father was Kapura Mangu and her mother was Raiha Kopa. Her tupuna is Kawiti's brother.

This is Taki Paraha, he is Wiremu's brother.

This is Taruna (Reuben) Paraha (on right). He is the son of Wiremu and Tangatakino.

He married Maraea Neha of Ngati Maniapoto Iwi in Te kuiti.

This is Harry William Paraha, he is the son of Taruna Paraha and Maraea Neha. He is the oldest of their 5 children. He is named after Taruna's brother Tahuri.
