It was event filled.
first there was exams, and I passed them all. I got an A+, A-, B+ and B taking my GPA from a 5 to a 6.75. this is quite exciting from a nerd point of view, as in a 5 = a B average, my aim was to get a B+ average (6) and I nearly but not quite got an A- average. IF I get some more A's in this my last semester EVER of my undergraduate degree then I will hopefully drag it up into the 7's range. This is significant for my chances of successful application to the Summer scholarship program, the right combination of 3rd year student and healthy GPA could see me land a research assistants position which I narrowly missed out on last year.
So thats the nerd stuff out of the way.
The kids had hols, we went to Rotorua and Papamoa in the first week, then the boys went to their Dads family for 4 days, and then we all got the flu, including Sebs neice and nephew :( Of course there was also my fantastic freak out trip to Sydney for two days, care of the amazing generosity of my friends who donated their monies in my donate a dollar drive. Plenty of feedback, all of it (well 98%) very positive. It left me feeling good about my choices in friends, about human generosity, and about my own genuine desire to help people. Its a dollar, its not much to help a person. Actually the day before I flew out I read a thing in the paper about a south african girl who had come here for a holiday, got a staph infection in her leg and died. It was the first time she'd ever been overseas. Anyway she had no travel insurance and got sick, and her family were left with a 300k hospital bill and a beloved dead sister. They put their bank details in the paper, I put 5 bucks in their account.
I loved my trip away even though it was short. There wasn't really a best bit, all of it was best, some wonderful moments, probably my favourite was arriving at my sisters house on Sunday morning and realising my neices were already there and Lily running up and wanting me to pick her up. I have my suspicions she got me mixed up with Jessie but meh who cares. Theres nothing quite like a 22 month old child who hasn't seen you since she couldn't even roll over, requesting a cuddle from you. I liked that I could participate in normal things like watching my brother and my father make kitchen cabinets, or go out for dinner with my sister and her family. Take a drive to the breadshop with my dad, wander in Newtown with my sisterinlaw. I just wish I could do it more than once a year.
Now Im back at uni again, 4 papers to go, first week of 12 is already over, a ton of reading to do this weekend as well. Kobi had his first game of the second term, they drew 2 all, and he played really well. Cole got a lovely certificate in assembly for improving his spelling, and generally things have been pretty good.
